Year 2 Princes Risborough High Street

On Wednesday 26th April Year 2 we walked down to Princes Risborough High Street, to learn about our local area.  First we went to the pet shop, then we went to Dukes.  The next shop was the bakery, then the shoe shop and the photocopying shop.  Finally we went to Crepe Escape.  We asked questions like, What are your opening times? What is your address?  What do you sell?  In the Crepe Escape they gave us some gingerbread bunnies, they were crunchy and yummy.  We then walked back to school going to the park in Mill Lane.  We learnt to stay safe and that our local area is quite busy.

    Football matches

On Tuesday this week Monks played football against St John’s School.  The first half was tight with only one goal scored by St Johns but Monks Risborough carried on the attack.  They had a few chances but didn’t manage to finish any of them off.  In the second half we played better and managed to stop any more goals.  Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to score any goals either, and lost 1 -0. We enjoyed the game even though we didn’t get the result we wanted.

The girl's football team played against Disraeli School as well.  At the start of the game we played really well but we were slow, however, after a lot of tries we scored!  Alice passed to Ariadne who then passed to Erica and then she ran up towards goal and scored!  In the second half Ariadne was passed the ball and she ran up the pitch, and someone foaled me and I got a free kick but I was unable to score.  We enjoyed our game very much the other team well and luckily we beat them 1-0.

  • Energise 2023

    Tue 28 Mar 2023

We started practicing around February for Energise.  This year’s story was about giraffes and zebras not being friends because of their different patterns and colours.  One of the people who worked for Energise came to teach us a dance to the song ‘Take a look at you’. There were a lot of other songs we had to learn for the other schools taking part to dance to.  The performances were 24th and 25th March in the Wycombe Swan theatre.  We had some practices at the town hall with all the other schools.  Some people were very nervous, whereas others were quite excited, when the curtain went up it was a very shocking moment seeing how many people were there.  Some of the class had speaking parts as zebras, giraffes and meerkats, it was fun to speak in front of so many people. The speaking was very clear and at a good pace. It was a very joyful time and we all enjoyed the performing.

  • Hawks Walk to Risborough & Train Ride

    Fri 24 Mar 2023

Today, the 24th March we went on a school trip around Risborough.  Unlike any other trip, we walked a lot, we walked 8km!  We did this trip for a geography lesson.  Our topic is about  settlements.  We learned how Risborough is a semi-rural area ( a mixture of industrial areas, commercial, residential and countryside) We rode a train, it was so fun.
