This half term our topic is Rivers. This is a Geography based topic.
Big Question: 'Do we need to Respect our Rivers?'
Our class text: The River Singers by Tom Moorhouse.
Through this topic, children will discover the importance of rivers and understand the processes of erosion, transportation and deposition of material. Skills such as being able to identify physical, geographical features will be greatly developed in this topic. Their learning will ultimately help them decide if we need to respect our rivers, not only in the way that we treat them but also in our awe of them.
In Maths this term we will be learning how to multiply and divide using formal written methods.
Later in the term we will be re-visiting fractions and expanding our knowledge on how to use fractions as operations and how to find fractions of amounts.
