Our first extended piece of writing this year has been to write an informal letter, using the appropriate structures and vocabulary. We read a letter from Dorothy's children to their mum, and used this as guidance for our own. Through drama, the children then explored how Dorothy was feeling at NASA, and what she might write home to her children about - events, thoughts, feelings, her new life! In groups of 3, the children edited each others work - identifying stars and improvements. They showed great teamwork throughout!
