Hello everyone,

It's Miss Dawes here - I am the new Falcons class teacher. I have just uploaded some videos for you to watch to get to know me, your new classroom and hopefully for us to learn a little bit about each other! I am very excited for September. 

Please send any responses to the homelearning@monks.org.uk email address so I can read through them. If you would rather save anything until we meet each other in September, that is also fine.

Transition Task - Character Description Success Criteria 

Task: After listening to Miss Dawes read an extract from ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’, you are going to write your own character description; about yourself! Please write it in third person as if a friend is describing you and make it interesting, engaging and colourful so that I am wowed by it! Think about not only describing your physical features, but also explaining your characteristics and personality features such as hobbies and interests! Use my example if you are stuck.

Success Criteria. I can:

• Use my best cursive handwriting

• Use accurate punctuation

• Write in third person

• Use lots of ambitious vocabulary to excite Miss Dawes

• Use a range of techniques to create imagery (similes, metaphors, personification) so that Miss Dawes really gets to know you!
