Evidence shows that mindfulness can improve well-being, physical health and mental health. We live in a busy world and it is easy to get caught up in it, which can lead to worry, anxiety and stress. Mindfulness provides an opportunity to focus on the 'present' rather than things yet to happen or things beyond our control. There are lots of different ways to be mindful but the following activity is something that all the family can try.
Tummy Breathing
Try tummy breathing to help you relax. Lie down on your back and balance something on your tummy like a soft toy. Make it rise and fall as you breathe in and out. Concentrate on trying to slow the soft toy down. Do this every night before you go to bed for a week.
