Over the last few lessons we've explored coastal erosion, and then made the most of the sunny weather to get outside and build our own defence! We had a tray with pink sand at one end, and the challenge was to build an effective coastal defence. Only 1 survived the water and the waves!
We began our topic of Coasts by defining what a coast is, and then exploring different coastal places in the UK. We discussed how Devon is a county, and there are many coastal towns and villages within Devon. The big ordnance survey maps were fantastic to look at, but not so fun to fold up and put away again!
