6. The Big City

What are we learning about this half term?

This half term our main topic is entitled 'A Big City.' With a focus on Geography, we are going to learn all about our capital city, London, thinking about the United Kingdom as a whole, the four countries that it is made up of and how London compares to the village of Monks Risborough. We will be hosting a Teddy Bear's picnic near the end of term - look out for your invitation from Paddington and Red Ted!

Thinking about our value of friendship, we are going to answer the question, 'Why did the Lion and Katie become such good friends?' in our story, Katie in London.

We are going to focus on two fantastic texts this term: Katie in London by James Mayhew and Paddington by Michael Bond.
