We had a lovely time celebrating the Queen's Jubilee with our very own Queen -Mrs Nish! Thank you to the Friends for providing the decorations and organising the tea party after school. A big thank you to Beechdean for providing the ice-cream!
Remember to wear Red, White & Blue for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee tomorrow, 24th May!
As part of our learning about settlements this term, Hawks created posters about the things they love about our local community. Princes Risborough library and the Tourist information Centre (TiC) have used our work to create a display for their visitors.
Why not pop along and have a look!
Thank you for showing our school value of generosity by donating to Comic Relief. A big thank you to Year 3 who showed the value of responsibility and sold red noses to the classes everyday for the past two weeks. We raised £360 from selling Red Noses and £141 on our non uniform day! Well done and thank you again to everyone!
Mr Stannett has been working very hard on our new allotment area for the school. Look out for more exciting developments!
The first week of March was exciting at Monks Risborough School because it was Book Week! First, we enjoyed the story ‘Bloom.’ Then, we pressed flowers, wrote instructions for how to make a seed ball for the old man in the book, and made covers for our instruction writing. We swapped books to take home, we read our own books, and we dressed up as our favourite characters from books! We’ve had a mystery reader some days. This meant that someone read to us and we had to guess who it was! Nobody guessed who the readers were but we thought it was one of our parents! It was such a pleasure to have them read to us. We also made 2D and 3D shapes in Maths. From Red Kites xxx
Please note that school will be closed today - Friday 18th February - due to the severe weather caused by Storm Eunice. All Bucks schools have been advised to close due to the danger posed by the strong winds. Teachers are currently working to upload learning activities to the Google Classroom - there will be no live lessons.
Please take care and stay safe. Have a lovely half-term break next week.
Well done to our Year 5 & 6 Girls football teams who took part in a friendly tournament against Disraeli school. The girls showed great team spirit and competed brilliantly. A particular well done to Monks Red team who finished second out of the four teams that took part.
