To write a recount (Visit to Maidenhead Synagogue)
I came to school and Mrs Shea took the register. Then, the coach arrived ad we were off. It took about 45 minutes. Finally, we got there and met a person called Diz and she showed us all of Maidenhead Synagogue. We learnt about David and the Floor and at the end of the trip we had some bread and water and then drove back.

On Thursday the 15th of January, Year 5 and 6 went on a coach to the BP Pulse Arena, Birmingham, to perform at Young Voices because it's important to sing sometimes. We left at 10.15 and got on the coach with Year 6 and sat down with our partners.
We parked at 12.30pm and walked into the stadium with our groups. We sat down in our seats at 1.15 and had lunch. Then we had a rehearsal of songs some medleys Wicked, pop, sea shanty and songs like Power in Me and Something inside so strong. We did some Urban Strides dancing and then stopped for dinner. The chatter of excitement was so loud I could hardly hear myself think! Next we were given a small torch and when the concert was on we waved our torches wildly! Evelyn P spotted my mum and dad but I didn’t see them. We sang lots of songs and I couldn't choose my favourite one!
Finally after the long wait it was time for the real thing! As soon as the lights turned on all of my nerves washed away and I was finally ready.
The performance was so fun and so loud and so amazing that I don't think I will ever forget. My favourite song was probably the pop medley but it was so hard to choose because they were all so fantastic. It was such a good experience and I hope everyone loved it as much as me!
After, we hopped on the coach and I sat next to Josie. We played with my panda, Ying and tried to get to sleep but we couldn't and kept laughing about random things!
Then we got back to school and my mum and dad were there. They picked me up in my dad’s red car and I got home and told my gramma all about our trip to Young Voices 2026!

This year, for the RSPB's annual Big Garden Birdwatch, the Eco Team decided to run a whole-school event, in addition to the event you can be part of at home this weekend. Classes have been busy bird spotting and carrying out activities to encourage birds to visit the school grounds. Year 1 enjoyed making fat balls and other bird food.
If you would like to participate in the Big Garden Birdwatch at home, please follow the link below:

Many thanks and happy bird-spotting!

On Friday 16th January, Year 4 from breaktime until lunchtime we went tree planting with Chiltern Rangers, in our school field. There were two types of trees not spikey and spikey such as Oak, Blackthorne and Rowan. Some volunteers and the rangers dug the holes and we put the soil back once the little trees were in. If the tree roots were too big we had to make the holes bigger with our shovels, then we put bark around the base of the trees. The trees will be fenced off with deer fencing to protect them.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful parent volunteers who gave up their time and helped us. We couldn't have done it without you!
Mrs Gibbins
On Tuesday 13th January we visited Whiteleaf Cross to scrub bash with Chiltern Rangers.
First we walked up to the site, my legs were hurting so much I thought they were going to fall off!!
When we got there we met Paul one of the Chiltern Rangers he showed us how to use loppers safely. Chopping down trees and bushes was hard work but it was fun all the same.
Finally we got a hot chocolate! I think I deserved it. Scrub bashing was fun I had the best time ever!

Today, we enjoyed an informative assembly from a representative from the Young Climate Warriors Organisation. We learnt about climate change and how we can make small changes to our behaviour to help make a big difference to our world!
Please look out for the fun weekly challenges that will be posted on Weduc! Your family can also join in. The eco-council will be reminding us regularly to take part and to remember the YCW saying, 'If you love your planet, make a change! Little by little, a little becomes a lot!'
Please see the YCW website for further details.

Thank you to all who have donated to the Rotary Shoebox Scheme, the children really enjoyed packaging them up for collection.
Today, 13th November, Year 6 went to the Gurdwara. When we got there we went into a marquee and met Nirmal, our guide. Before we went into the Gurdwara we had to wash our hands, take our shoes off and cover our heads. When we went in he showed us the kitchens and that some people were peeling potatoes and chopping them. There were also big bowls and pots and pans, some were being stored and some were being washed. We also saw the gym in the Gurdwara. Then we went upstairs and saw both prayer rooms. We first went into the main one and could pretend to give a donation and bow to their God. In the second prayer room we went behind the podium and saw the written scriptures and why they were waving the Chaur (a religious wand). Nirmal then told us about the 5Ks and how they were important. We then ate lunch sat in the dining hall with the members of the Gurdwara and the public before coming home.
