Today a fire engine came to school, Mr Thomas showed us all around the fire engine, there was lots of equipment! There were fire hoses and tweezers. Did you know that one of the tweezers can cut open doors!

Today the fire engine came to school and the fire engine was good. The Fire Engine had a big tea making machine which made them cups
of tea! All of us counted, the fireman took 37 seconds to put his fireman suit on. The Fire Engine had two big ladders. We went to the right of the fire engine and the fireman had food for their lunch. The men put on big wellingtons. Finally, we got to see the flashing blue lights and that was the best part.

Today a fire engine came to school and the firemen said ‘hello’ and we were very excited. He showed us the fire engine, then he showed us a cupboard where it had lots of tools. A couple of minutes later he showed us the back of the fire engine, it was so cool. But the funniest bit was when he said ‘I used to be a magician’ and he pulled out a traffic cone, but it was cone that collapsed, it just folded up and down. Then Mr Thomas showed us the other side of the fire engine. It had this safety clip that went around his neck, so that if there was a big rescue and someone fell in the water and they would be supported. We really wanted him to spray the hose, unfortunately, they ran out of time. They saved the best until last because he showed us the back of the fire engine, which was amazing – he said ‘Do you want to see the lights?’ We all stood against the wall and he said goodbye and flashed the blue lights and sounded the siren.

Today a fire engine came to school and I saw all the lights turn on and off. We counted how long it took the fireman to get into his outfit and it took him 37 seconds. I learnt that in the olden days they had to use buckets, but now we can use hoses so we can make putting out fire quicker. There were lots of hoses! We saw a big and a small ladder. Class 2 had a lovely time meeting the fireman and we would like to thank them for coming to visit.
