Monks Risborough CE Primary School

Stone Age

Our lead subject is History for our Stone Age topic this half term, where we study the changes in civilisation from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. We are aiming to answer the question 'Were the Stone Age people generous in their communities?' by the end of our learning journey.

We will be studying the following books throughout our learning. You may like to buy them to have a copy of your own but please don't read them until we have looked at them in school first... we don't want you to ruin any surprises!

Our Class Readers

September 2025

This month has been especially busy - Kestrels Class has settled in to the new routines of Key Stage 2 and enjoyed all the activities available!

They have studied addition and subtraction and learn formal methods, learnt about the Stone Age and made their own cave paintings in caves (under desks). They have thoroughly enjoyed their weekly sessions of Forest School with Mrs Thomas and have learnt new skills.

In English they have studied The First Drawing and written instructions based on How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth!
