On Tuesday 30th September our class (year 4) went to Neasden Temple which is on the outskirts of London. We went there to find out more about how they worship.
We travelled there by coach and it took about an hour. When we got there, we took off our shoes and placed them in a special shoe rack. This was as a sign of respect and to keep the temple clean.
First, we watched a video on how the temple was built. I was surprised that the temple was built by volunteers and that the decorated stone was actually carved.
Next, we made our way into the main shrine to witness an aarti ceremony and to see gods covered with gold and gifts. The aarti ceremony was really exciting and we joined in with clapping.
After that, we visited a Hinduism exhibition. It felt like we were in a big underground cave!
My favourite part of the day was when we went to the Hinduism exhibition because we got clipboards and had to look for the answers. I hope I can go back to the temple one day.

On Tuesday 30th September year 4 went to the Neasden temple.
Firstly, we travelled be coach and we got to choose a friend.
When we arrived we had to take off our shoes and place them in a rack to show respect.
Next we went in to a big room to watch a video on how the temple was built it made me curious.
After that we went to see a aarti ceremony the music made me feel relaxed. Finally we went to a Hinduism exhibition it had so many facts about Hinduism and I learned a lot.
My favourite thing was the Hinduism exhibition. In the future I would like to go to another Hindu temple in India.
