Our lead subject is Science for our All About Me topic this half term. We look more closely at ourselves physically as humans as well as what makes us all special and unique as individuals. We are aiming to answer the question 'Why should I be thankful for being me?' by the end of our learning journey.
We will also be learning the Nativity story to help us understand the Christmas season and will be practising our own nativity performance to share with you all!
We have been exploring the Place Value of Punctuation and Grammar within our book this half term, Super Duper You!

We have really enjoyed our 'All About Me' topic, learning about our senses and our different body parts. We know that we have 5 senses - hearing, touch, taste, smell and sight - and have thoroughly enjoyed accessing enhancements in our provision to learn about them. This month we have explored addition and subtraction in Maths, using vocabularly like more, less, greater and fewer. We know that equals means the same, so it doesn't matter if the equation comes before or after it, for example, 5= 3+2 or 3+2=5. We have started our Place Value of Grammar and Punctuation and now know what a noun is, including common nouns and proper nouns. We walked to Whiteleaf and explored what we could see, hear, smell and touch on our senses stroll. We tasted our snack at the top of Whiteleaf hill whilst looking at human and physical features in our local area.
As you can imagine, December has been full of wonder and magic! We have been loving our All About Me topic, showing off our knowledge of our senses and our human body parts. In Maths, we have loved learning about 2d and 3d shapes, creating patterns and sorting them into different groups. In English, we learned about being verbs, am, are and is and can put them into sentences with a subject. We had so much fun dressing up, performing, singing and signing in our Nativity, called 'Knock, knock, the Nativity!'. We also loved Christmas community groups, creating a craft and we got to do this with our siblings (if we had one!). We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2026!
