Red Zone

The 'Red Zone' is a heightened state of alertness and intense emotions which is not an optimal level for learning. People tend to feel mad, angry, terrified, elated, out of control. When people are in the 'Red Zone' they may be unable to communicate effectively therefore may shout/yell or lash out.

I can these tools to move out of the red zone...

  • Deep breaths
  • Take a break from what I am doing for 2 minutes
  • Listen to adults to help you
  • Use your words to explain how you are feeling/what the problem is
  • Accept help
